ASTHMA AWARENESS WEEK ‘25
This year, Asthma Awareness week ran from the 1-7th of September!
This was a truly special one, as the Zoe Kennedy Foundation came together with our community to honour Zoe’s life, raise awareness, and push for a future free from asthma. We had a range of events that promoted education, getting out and getting active and remembering Zoe. Whilst asthma is not something that affects us all, this week is about supporting our ‘wheezy mates’ and acknowledging all our bodies do for us.
We kicked off the week with energy and smiles in Brighton with the@sunset.club_melbs. Runners and walkers of all abilities joined us for a social evening along the bay, creating a fun and supportive atmosphere. We ended the night with an acai bowl at Blitz Bar afterwards, with plenty of chats around asthma and its importance.
Midweek, we shifted gears for an evening of learning and support at Moama Bowling Club. The seminar was a chance for locals to gain practical knowledge about asthma and hayfever management, with lots of thoughtful questions and discussions. It was wonderful to see people leaving with new skills and understanding around managing their health and greater confidence to take control of their symptoms.
We closed the week on a high at UPSTATE Geelong with a beginner pilates class. The room was full of energy, positivity, and determination as participants moved for a cause. Every $20 ticket went directly to the Zoe Kennedy Foundation and helped us fund vital asthma research. Not only did participants leave feeling strong and uplifted, but together we remembered Zoe and her life that was tragically cut short.
From the shores of Brighton to the heart of Moama and the studios of Geelong, Asthma Awareness Week brought people together in memory of Zoe and in support of everyone affected by asthma. Each event highlighted the strength of community and the importance of awareness, education, and action.
We want to thank everyone who joined us, whether you walked, ran, listened, learned, or moved with us. Your support helps us continue our journey to create a future where asthma no longer takes lives. <3 <3 <3
